About Alpha
Alpha is first introduced in Dollhouse as the Doll that went crazy. He was imprinted with 48 different personalities (and one of them is a multiple personality, as realized in the episode Omega, 1.12) in a composite event. He killed his handler, the original Doctor Saunders and then his original self. Alpha first went 'off' while with Whiskey and later was given a treatment. But once Echo arrives at the Dollhouse, he becomes infatuated with her. He kisses her, despite the fact that Dolls aren't supposed to have those kinds of feelings for each other, and his handler catches him in the act. The first person that Alpha attacks (prior to the composite event) is Whiskey, who was the most requested Doll in the house at the time. He wanted Echo to be number one, so he slashed up Whiskey's face with a pair of scissors.It is at this point that he is dragged off to the chair for Topher to figure out what when wrong, but Alpha attacks his handler and the composite event occurs. The first on-screen shot of Alpha is of him as one Stephan Kepler, the man who designed the environmental systems for the Dollhouse. He impersonates the man, after killing him, and tricks Paul Ballard into helping him get back into the Dollhouse. He acts like he's being tortured just by being out in the open and ends up slashing Victor's face before getting Doctor Saunders to call Echo over. Boyd and Paul go to see one of Alpha's victims (before he was Alpha - he had been incarcerated and he traded his lengthy prison sentence for five years of his life instead), who had scars across her face that mimicked Doctor Saunders' scars.
Not much is known about Alpha beyond the fact that his original name was Carl William Craft and that he had an obsession with Echo. He disappears at the end of the episode Omega.
